L2L warmly
invites you to:
Stravinsky’s Petrouchka and Firebird with
Piano Duo (4 hands one piano) with pianists Stanislava Varshavski and Diana
Shapiro
The
evening features two compositions created for Ballet Russes productions a
century ago. Prior to the premiere of the ballet Petrouchka,
Stravinsky and several other pianists used a four hands on one piano version
for the rehearsals. We will enjoy this version, along with The Firebird,
Stravinsky’s “breakthrough” piece. A video excerpt from the ballet will
also be shown.
No reservations or
tickets needed.
FREE of charge, with
birthday cake served.
Bryn Mawr Students
who attend Learning to Listen events will be eligible for free tickets to see
The Philadelphia Orchestra in Bach’s sparkling and propulsive Brandenburg
Concertos at the Kimmel Center on April 18, 2013. This is the final
presentation of Learning to Listen in 2012-13.
